Kevin Bryenton

Kevin Bryenton is a 34-year, second generation member of Local 721 (Toronto, Ontario) where he joined in 1987. He served his apprenticeship as an ironworker generalist and graduated as the outstanding apprentice. He has worked in all facets of the trade in many local jurisdictions, spending the bulk of his time on the tools in the industrial and ornamental sectors. Kevin was hired by Local 721 as an instructor in 1999; appointed apprenticeship coordinator in 2000; and elected to the offices of vice president, examining committee, president and business agent through 2009. Kevin was appointed general organizer in April 2009 by General President Joseph Hunt, and in May of the same year, appointed president of the Ontario Iron Workers District Council. He was elected by acclamation to that position effective June 2013 and 2018. He is the administrator for the Ontario Trade Improvement Plan and the chairman of the Canadian Ironworkers Political Action League. He sits as the Ontario representative on the Industrial Health and Safety Association Section 21 Committee and is the provincial bargaining association chair for the Trades of Ironworker and Reinforcing Rodworker. Kevin serves the General Presidents Maintenance Committee of Canada as the Eastern Canada representative. Effective July 6, 2015, General Organizer Kevin Bryenton was appointed general vice president and was acclaimed to that position at the 2016 and 2021 conventions of the Ironworkers.  Effective July 1, 2019 Kevin was appointed as the Executive Director of Canadian Affairs for Ironworkers International.
