Mathew is the Senior Vice President, Policy, Government Relations & Ontario Division at Canadian Manufacturer & Exporters (CME). CME is the largest industry and trade association in Canada, representing some 2,500 members across Canada. In his role, Mathew connects with industry leaders across the country to better understanding their priority issues and advocating effective solutions on their behalf with decision makers at all levels of government.
Mathew has a broad background government relations expertise with a focus on manufacturing competitiveness and international trade. He has led many successful advocacy campaigns throughout his career that has made business positive impacts on policies and regulations including trade agreements, taxation, immigration, customs and border management, human resources, and investment supports. He is the architect of CME’s Industrie 2030 campaign to double manufacturing output in Canada and has authored a variety policy research papers on a range of topical issues including innovation and commercialization, investment competitiveness, NAFTA modernization, international trade diversification, human capital, and technology adoption.
